Working to produce and publish an A&R for a century old firm.
The task ahead
Whilst Head of Department at Walker Crips I project managed the 2018/19 Reports and Accounts. The role included organising shoots for intersectional pages, photographing board members and key staff, copywriting and editing, typesetting, proofreading, production sourcing and overseeing mailing to shareholders.
The extensive work was more than design, but the design itself was were it all began.
After travelling across the country to familiarise myself with various branches, I reached the decision to spotlight the regional teams within the Annual Report to better showcase the firm’s reach. I instructed and undertook several photoshoots to acquire headshots of key staff and board members. Restrictive colour was used in tandem with gold light leaks to elevate imagery and represent the century-old elegance of the firm.
Managing, developing and designing the WCG PLC Annual Report was a lesson in time allocation, precision and focus. Though a difficult feat to achieve with a team of three people, the document was a resounding success; heralded by the former CEO of fifteen years as "The best Annual Report yet."
